I agree with Andy. It was supposed to be a site to where you could get the items you wanted at a deal compared to paying the full price at the store. But now, it's so bad that 95% of the time, after doing all the bidding, you'll end up paying close to the retail price anyways.

because there are never any deals anymore, everyone knows about it and ends up outbiding each other and then end up paying full price for an item... i find that craigslist is the only place to find a deal these days.

It's only a rip off if you buy common stuff..but i've actually found it to be very useful when finding something that is more rare, or something i can't find in stores, or somethings that are just unusual. For example, i bought a lot of chucky cheese tokens to take my niece for a great price, bought 12 cents a token, basically i saved 50% compared to if i were to go to chucky cheese itself and buy them..i've gotten a good deal on a brand new guitar of which the same one i saw in the shop(guitar center) for 20% higher..so i guess if you want a deal you have to really look for it, and search to see around what they are generally going for..and they dive in last minute when u see smthin good..its not the best place for things like electronics, but those random hard to find deals are pretty spiffy if u ask me:)
