those responsible for the financial crisis (the managers of financial institutions) should also be responsible for the bailout. Sell THEIR homes, empty THEIR bank accounts, garnish their future wages. Mr and Mrs Average had no part in the crisis and should not pay for it, and conferences and hundreds of politicians are not necessary to see such a solution. It's only complicated in the eyes of those who try to MAKE it complicated. |

If it's so simple why don't you name names of those who are responsible? They have political cover, so those who you end up thinking are responsible, are usually not.
Bill Clinton, started Freddy Mac and Fanny Mae, and they started all this crap. Barney Frank and Chris Dodd obstructed Bush's and McCains efforts to curtail Freddy and Fannie, but Dodd and Frank and many other democrats and some repubicans resisted it, so it never occured. Chris Dodd is the largest recipient of Campaign funds from these Quasi governmental corporations, and Obama is right up there near the top as well. They all resisted changing the lending practises which were meant to take away restrictions for less than good credit, and income history.
We also have the obstruction of any kind of economic fuel resources. Drilling for oil, refining oil, drilling natural gas, nuclear, clean coal, hydro electric and others. They support wind and solar, but those are to expensive to help our economy. This has lead to the economic problems we are in now, more than the credit problems have. In fact the energy costs contributed and probably put the credit crisis over the top, or the banks could have maintained solvency.
Who do you want to burn? Those I named? Or the idiots who voted them in? Or the dishonest leftist media and entertainment industry who brain washed the idiots who voted them in? |

Maybe you're just smarter than the rest of us. Yeah thats it. Mr and Mrs Average had no part in the crisis ...they were just the ones accepting the loans they couldnt pay for. It takes two. They deserve part of the blame. And the banks deserve part of the blame because they ignored the first rule of finance, risk. But ever since the FDIC and the New Deal programs of FDR the banks have been able to abdicate risk. So the government deserves some blame too. |

Depends on your perspective I guess doesn't it, many would say that Mr and Mrs average are equally to blame. Then again many people outside of America would say that the greedy Americans stuffed up the world economy. |
