N.T. | Why is there going to be a recession in the future? |
I am wondering what are individuals going to do when they are caught in the recession or depression times in the near future. However, I would appreciated it, if you could some advice on what to do during these tough times ahead? |

Recession or 'Depression' times are not new concepts. We have been through them before, and we will have to go through them again. Economy must drop before it can rise, It's a continuous never-ending cycle. Jobs will be scarce, money will be worth less, because gas and other necessities will become more expensive. But this has to happen in order to get back to where we were before. |

some say we started into a recession the last quarter of 2007, others say we are now in a recession. That means prices on everything are going up. I'd say don't buy anything unless it's absolutely necessary that you do so, and also pay off your credit cards, and don't do a lot of driving or traveling. |

If you have a Job, hang onto it. Do not Borrow any Money unless absolutely necessary. Hang on to the Money that you have! Don't waste it on anything! If you have a place , Plant a Garden with the fruits and Vegetables that will grow in your Area. What you don't eat, Sell!! |

Energy costs, the weak dollar, Real Estate market collapse, war debt funded primarily by China, Market manipulation by the world banks, Bill Gates in conjunction with the Carlisle Group and Free Masons, take your pick. It's happening and saving your money is a losing proposition during an inflationary economy. Your home is not an investment either. Buy Energy with the money you have left. It will be worth more than gold and maybe more than salt. You won't get it at this price again with the decreasing value of your currency. Good luck. |

We have always had recessions. We have gone much longer without one than normal. Two factors leading to this one are the credit crisis caused by irresponsible lenders loaning way too much money to irresponsible borrowers. The other factor is rising energy costs. |

It's going to be a difficult time. There will be a lot about cutting the money spent. Saving money. |

I think the first thing we need to do as a country is to cut our spending significantly on the big government programs that our conservative politicians love (foreign troop deployments, the Department of Homeland Security, the War on Drugs, corporate welfare, the War on Immigrants, 3-strikes laws etc.). This would save us enough money that massive tax cuts could be passed (the War on Iraq costs $3 trillion and we spend $60 billion a year to maintain the world's largest prison population). The American people must refuse to vote for any politicians who refuse to support significant cuts in all of these big government programs.
The next thing to do is to cut back on spending. To build a sustainable economic future, we need a more production-based economy in place of our current consumption-based economy. The switch could be made easier if our economic system were reformed to eliminate inflation (which means finding some replacement for the Federal Reserve) and our tax system were reformed to one that penalized consumption rather than production (meaning a FairTax, with a rate significantly below the revenue-neutral rate proposed by most FairTax proponents). |
