Same reason there is no Sainsbury's or B&Q in America. IT IS A DIFFERENT COUNTRY.
I believe Seven Eleven tried to expand in the UK in the early 90's by opening a few stores in the South. They were bought out a few years later. |

Why should there be? Running an international retail operation is extremely difficult and lots of companies who try it end up closing down or selling off their international subsidiaries. There are lots of other chains of convenience stores in the UK, however. |

7-Eleven is an international conglomerate which operates the largest chain of convenience stores in twenty countries. Stores operated in the United Kingdom and Ireland in the 1990s but did not prove popular. So it appears they were closed. |

We used to have 7/11's here in the UK but but they have all been sold off to private owners and some to Budgens. I have to say though that I never cease to be amazed at the number of 7/11's in Thailand. On some streets you can actually see 3 or 4 from a single point. Add to them the Family Mart chain and you have an incredible number of convenience stores. |

There are 7-eleven stores still in the UK, but not as many as there were in the late 1980s. |

Because corner shops are all you need. I can't see 7/11 stocking Kestrel or Tenents' Extra.
Hooray for indepedent corner shops and their week old mushrooms and endless supplies of doritos and fruitgums |

I'm sure I've seen them. There certainly used to be one in the town where I went to Uni, but that was a while ago. I'd rather not repeat the experience of ever going in one. If you want shopping 24 hours a day, most large supermarkets now are open all the time. (There's nothing to beat the experience of going round Tesco's at gone midnight to do your week's shopping... bizarre!) |

There are still a few 7-11s around. There were a few in London before I left. Most towns now have at least one 24h Supermarket, so convenience stores can't compete. |

There used to be one in Ilford,Essex and one just outside of Basingstoke |

Why should there be a 711 in the UK?
We don't HAVE to have all American stores in every country. We can actually manage with our own! |

Because we have several other chain / franchise shops.
Please notice, in the UK a store is a 'stockpile' or a place where things are kept.
The place where you go to buy things is a shop. |

Erm....there's Spar, or Forbouys. I don't think Happy Shopper exists any more. They're around somewhere |
