Will Bailouts ruin America by 2010?

This is the begining of the end for the good ol US of A. In the next 20 years we will see a complete overhaul of world power. USA is a victim of its years of unhindered capitalist greed and I have no doubt that US will not be as potent force as it is now.
One thing history tells us is that it repeats itself. And if history is any indication, just like the great Roman, egyptian or any great civilization in history, there comes a time when they all bite the dust.
Sadly, the time has begun for US now. I will go so far as to say that possibly US might become a 3rd world country in 50 years time, Who knows? It certainly is not unconceivable. Everything goes up and down in cycles.
The economy is a mess and the vicious cycle of depression feeds on itself. The bailout cannot save the US. Short term boost cannot affect the cycle. Like a candle flickering in the wind for just a couple of seconds before its consumed, the bailout will work only in the short term before the real damage is unleashed.

Depends on how you define "ruin". We're making the same mistakes now that have put and keep Japan in a recession over the past 15 years. In addition, we're on the verge of making the same mistakes that ruined business and medical care in Canada.

Is the country going to be destroyed and all chaos going to break out? No.

On the other hand, bailouts and government takeovers are never reversed, so the acts congress are taking now will permanently alter the country. For the worse if we're following the failed examples of Canada, Japan, and the U.K.
