Will Microsoft and Apple ever merge?
I know not in my lifetime, but maybe down the road? Would the SEC allow this if the proposal came up?

AC
Not likely. The FTC would not allow such dominance in the computer industry.

never

I don't think its virtually possible for that to happen...in a comparison it's like asking Proctor and Gamble to merge with 3M.

I own the new IMac. Apple sells it, but they do not support the chip with the Window's XP operating system on it.

Gates and Jobs have been good to me, I don't mind Beta testing this expensive little toy.

These two companies will never merge for a lot reasons. First none will want to be controlled by the other company. second ,if they merge million of people will lose their job. this someone thing the us government will not allow, finally the third thing is their competition around the world market

I doubt it because Apple is basically all mac and microsoft isnt really so that would be quite and effort and not really worth it. and besides they have both made names for themselves and do not at all need too.

We live in a changing enviroment. The only thing constant is change. As both CEO's get older and look down the road for the benefits for society, I can see a relationship developing that will unite the two companies. Technology is the force that will cause society to take a different shape. These two companies will be in part responsible for that shape. The quasi relationship already exist, now it is time to move further for future advancement. It no longer about power or presence, it is about forward thinking.
