It could happen.
Nothing is forever.
You look at the last century and how many stores that existed then exist now. Almost none.
When was the last time you went to Sears to buy anything? |

It might. Look at Howard Johnson. They were once as big as Mc Donald's. Now there are very little of them left. It all depends on how greedy the owners get. |

As long as people continue to shop there and find what they want -- no. Can't beat their comparison pricing. One stop shopping that's better than going to a mall, but just as crowded. They should be around for a long time. |

I think eventually in the long run, Walmart will make errors.Whoever thought Montgomery Ward would go belly up? |
|

Jose

Nope. As long as there are people who want affordable goods imported from China and developing countries, Walmart's here to stay. |

Not as long as they keep their prices so the lower 2/3rds of the income makers can afford to purchase from them.
The way this wonderful American system works, gives every American the opportunity to overthrow Wal-Mart as the biggest.
All you have to do is sell you goods cheaper than Wal-Mart and still make a profit.
Sam Walton figured out what millions of other Retailers didn't.
Wal-Mart doesn't make much profit on every item the sell. Their average markup 3.5 % or 3 1/2 cents on every dollar you send. That ain't much. Would you provide your services for a $3.50 paycheck for every $100.00 of work you did. I don't think so.
Their secret is, Millions of people, each and every day, spend an average of $100.00 in Wal-Mart. That adds up to millions a day.
Ain't the American system of Capitalism GREAT!!! |

Of course, all good things must come to an end but I don't think they will be shutting down in our life times. After they drop the nuclear bombs, all that will be left are cockroaches and Walmart. |

It would be nice if they did. Remember how big Kmart was alot of them went under, so anything is possible. |

I hope so........I HATE WALMART
They have over 30 lines, only 2 or 3 will be opened.
And please don't ask anyone a question, b/c you might get the reply, "I don't work in this department." But I can't hardly find anything in there b/c everytime I do HAVE to go in there they are remodeling and moving stuff around. Actually, I could go on and on about reasons why I don't like walmart but I won't waste your time. |
