Very doubtful. Even when Apple was having a lot of problems several years ago, Microsoft helped by providing Internet Explorer for the Mac. Also MS Office is STILL available for the Mac. If Microsoft wanted to force Apple into a merger or buyout, supporting the platform is not the way to do it. Prevailing wisdom has always been that as long as Apple is around, MS can't TRULY be called a monopoly, because consumers DO have a choice.
(Not sure why another poster thinks Apple sucks, because their designs are almost always ahead of their time. I use and like both MS & Apple.)

I don't think so. It would actually be a poor financial move for Microsoft.

Not a chance. For one, MicroSoft would never merge with a much smaller company, they would buy them out. If they tried, the government would most certainly get involved and not allow it.

You're kidding, right? Steve Jobs and Bill Gates would rather eat glass than sit in the same boardroom with each other.
Besides, Sherman Anti-Trust Act of 1890 would prevent it.
