No! competition is fundamental to the capitalist system. Unless you are wanting to run again with that command economy stuff (communism), where you have a state monopoly. That system always fails in the end, but mindless lefties still pursue their desire for a totalitarian government. Also, we have what used to be called 'The monopolies and mergers commission' which prevents takeovers that are not considered to be in the public interest, possibly creating a near monopoly. |

No because nothing is forever. The economy is dynamic. New businesses, new types of business are being formed all the time. Where was Microsoft 50 years ago? The world is a big place. Sure we have consolidations & bankruptcies but we are not heading in the direction you have conceived. How coudl we intest in the stock market with only one stock? The world would grind to a halt. No. Can't see it but then what do I know? |

Why, very simple, the consumer is KING, without consumers, you have no economy, it's consumers who determine where they shop, where they buy things from and who they do business with (both in a B2B and B2C capacity)

Don't think just one, but maybe 3 or 4...Think of this, how many cell phone carriers did we start with? And how many are there now in the US? How many oil companies are there now? All and I mean ALL the MEDIA and NEWS companies are owned by 4 companies only! Guess who owns NBC, CNBC, MSNBC ets..... Yep one company guess who???
