Work Rrelated Question?
I have been with my company for 6 years and am under the Managing Director. I was on annual leave last week and have came in this morning to find out that the other girl in our office who has been with us for 5 weeks has booked all her annual leave which includes days that I wanted off. The managing director has cleared these but I feel a bit miffed as I have been working in the company so long. Is there anything I can do? As there are only 3 in the office, two people cant be off at the same time.
I would ask your managing director what his advice is on the situation. He is likely unaware that you wanted the days as well and should be able to help you work something out.

Firstly you can talk to her ie., if it is really important for u to be on leave on the same day, she'll surely understand. If its very important but she doesnt understand, if u have good terms with the MD u can approach him and kindly request him.
If it is not very important to take off on those particular days u can consider booking some other days.
She may have a reason for booking the days in advance u may have to reason out that too...
It has no specific relevance on the no. of years u work in a company since the companies work only for profit, human values purely depend on the kind of relationship u have with ur superiors. It is from my experience I tell - the company will favour and want u only when u r in-dispensable. For them ur an employee as the other one who joined 2 weeks later.
Always keep this in mind and prioritise everything else.

Confusing. Most places pick dates based on most senior to least senior; a few by first come first served. ASk him why she was given preferential treatment.

Depends on the policy of the company, whether it is a 'first-come-first-served' or 'seniority comes first', or 'most deserving'. She might be doing the right thing for MD to clear it.

talk to director and see if there is seniority--if so over ride her-if not next time be the first to put in time
