Would Starbucks be considered part of the service industry?

all places like starbucks come under the tertiary sector ie the service industry.dont forget the 10 pts gig =]
ps:they dont manufacture anything.......even traders and merchants or any coffee shop for that matter comes under the service sector

Yes, they provide a service, thus they are part of the tertiary sector. They are not in the business of manufacturing goods (secondary industries) and they are certainly not involved in agriculture or extraction (primary industries.)

Ahh not really. Their type of service is too minor to be considered part of the service industry. In another words, they play a minimal part.

I believe Starbucks would be categorized in the retail industry, but I'm not positive about that.
