Isn't it funny to see the UAW unioneers protesting and carrying what looks to be very expensive flags. They are obviously spending too much money. I don't even have a car anymore. I can't afford to buy a car, put in gas, pay for insurance, pay for maintenance, or even get a loan from the bank. What a mess these banks and the bush regime are causing! :( |

The trouble doesn't lie with the unions, it's the automakers that continues to dig their own graves. Failure to develop fuel conserving or alternate fuel vehicles has landed the "big 3" where they are today, not the labor.
Study a little more about manufacturing and you will find the automakers has all but cut out the labor force with automation, but even still, someone has to program and repair the equipment and it takes skilled labor to do that. Ask yourself, do you really want to trust and flop down your hard earned money knowing a sub-standard worker assembled the product.
Look at this. Of a union workers hourly wage, he will only bring home maybe 23%. The rest goes for insurance, retirement and union dues. BUT because there is a greater mark up in product sales for union made products, you will likely bring home less and have less, that my friend is the Democratic system at work in our great nation.
So saying unions are killing this nation is farther than from the truth, it's the unionized labor force that paves the way for the rest of the industries when it comes to setting safety standards, pay and benefits, all of which were NEGOTIATED by the companies owners. The companies agreed, said it was ok and now you want to blame the labor for wanting better for THEIR families.... give us a break!!
Go tell the Big 3 to get in line and begin to sell products the people can afford to keep and operate. The tecnology is there, it's just non-compliance in utalizing it that has them begging, not the union workers. All that worker wants to do is punch a time clock and provide a way of life for his/her family and if you are against that, shame on you! |
