Would you ask for this pay?
I am an administrative assistant/ sales representatives for a company that i have been with for the past couple months. I have been getting paid 15 per hour and NO taxes taken out which is WHY i want out. There is another company that our company has done business with that seen how i work and offered me a job for his company. He said he can pay 16 per hour first 90 days and then go to 18 per hour. I will be getting a raise at this job to 18 per hour in the next few weeks and that will be my final raise. I just counter offered an amount of him paying me 17 per hour and 19 after my review. Would you ask for this? He will be taken out taxes also which is why i want to move anyways,

Before you make a change, you'd better find out how solvent the company you're thinking about moving to really is. Be careful, very careful, job-hopping can get you in a lot of trouble if something goes wrong.

That is a reasonable counter offer

axes are gonna take out about 20% of whatever you make. so 18.00 minus 20% would be 3.60 less. 14.60. The tax free is always a winner. Don't forget 7.65% out for social security tax and Medicare, which at least one of those two are not going to be there when you try to collect it.

It depends if you feel you are valued in your job. If you feel you are worth more then always take the risk, otherwise your life will become stable but stale. I think you sense an urge to move forward, therefore I would always recommend taking the risk. You could live the rest of your life in a safe secure environment, or you could get out there and make the most of it and the opportunities it has to offer, and maybe end up a rich person, if not in finances, certainly in life experience.

You can always produce a counter-offer to what the company offers. The company does not have to accept it. Nineteen dollars an hour for a qualified administrative assistant in most areas is certainly reasonable. You can find salary ranges and averages at http://www.salary.com.
