Does anyone remember that old Wal-Mart ad? You know, the one where they say, "We buy American so you can." I think Americans as a whole need to boycott Wal-Mart and all other purveyors of Chinese goods until American companies start making their stuff in the good ole USA again. Anyone with me?

Thanks, I appreciate the willingness. As I've gotten a little older, I've realized how badly Wal-Mart has shafted the American manufacturing base. I'm highly angry now and want anyone that can to buy as much American made stuffas they can. |

As a small business owner, I understand how shopping at Wallmart can erode a community. The pennies you save will have a ripple effect throughout your community that will have a much larger effect.
I buy from my local meat market. I purchase from my local bread maker, etc... It makes a difference- they come to my restaurant for lunch. What comes around, goes around.
And I don't shop at large stores until I have to. It's not worth the erosion of the local community for a few pennies to fatten some CEO's over-blown bonus and his maritial affairs. |

No it won't work, I bet if you got most shop, the goods are made in China, from clothing ,shoes,electrics,car parts,most are going to be made from oversea, it is not just a the USA, it is the same in Europe . all the big names have factory's in China like Sony,Canon,Epson and so on.
wal-mart are only selling what people want.
if you stop having items in shops because they are not made in the USA, then the shops are going to look empty. not just Wal-mart.

This effort of yours will be ineffective when millions of other consumers don't seem to care about the issue.
What might be more effective is to lobby your congress representatives to mandate that products be properly labeled where they were made, such that don't have to wiat until you open package and read fine print to learn this.
Also, tell the stores where you shop that you are interested in buying products made in America ... ask where they have that on their shelves. If they show you, then buy from there. if they say they don't have that, then make a production about complaining to thir appropriaate place about that, then leave the store without buying anything. If some friendly store clerk asks if you had any trouble finding whatever you needed, tell them yes & explain what they don't have that you wanted.
Ask friends and neighbors to do the same thing at the same stores. |

if you really want to be an american and boycott foreign goods then you are gonna have to boycott all selling stores in united states. boycotting just walmart wont do much.
its just your old school thinking. this is the way world works. just deal with it alright. |
