This is a question? You're not on the Democratic Congressional Caucus trying to come up with another 'fix' for the economy, are you? |

Be Human. Buy Human?
Wal-Mart at one time prided itself for carrying a very large amount of products made in the USA. Then Sam died. His kids did not have to work for a living and got greedy. Now it is mostly imported stuff, some of which is junk.
It is not the store, but the people who own it and run it that is hurting the US economy. |

I dislike the Walmart in my town. I go to the Target across the street.
I dislike that the Walmart is always in a state of disarray with products scattered on the floor.
I dislike that Walmart encourages their employees to apply for foodstamps and other government subsidies rather than providing a living wage and benefits to their employees.
I dislike the attitude Walmart inflicts on communities when they decide they want to enter the market there.
I dislike that Walmart bargains so hard with it's overseas suppliers that they put pressure on their suppliers to create bad working conditions for their laborers.
While business is business, cut-throat aggressive tactics and overzealous negotiations may save consumers a few pennies but create a lot of bad karma in the world. |

Walmart has killed small town stores across the nation and now around the world. They have changed the way products are sold and distributed. You may hate the facts but the result is cost savings to consumers.
I sometimes shop at small stores simply to help the Mom and Pop shops of the world. I also shop everywhere online and lots on ebay so I am spreading my spending around and still helping small business all over the place. |

Yeah I would like to buy something at Wal-Mart for less. They take the criticism because just like Microsoft they sell alot of their products for cheaper which in turn make other businesses go out of business or raise their prices higher just to compete with Wal-Mart. It's alot of things you can buy at Wal-mart cheaper that you use to couldn't and people think that will hurt the economy in the long run because it will some sort of monopoly if alot of businesses shut down or merge with wal-mart or sell their products at Wal-Mart. |

Definately Wal-mart. why would i buy something for more money when i can save money at wal-mart? some people (myself for example) can't afford to buy exspensive clothes. at least at wal-mart i can buy a few items that equal the price of one piece of clothing at an expensive store. |

of course i'll buy for less money if they are of the same brand.and besides wal-mart is spacious.i can easily locate what i need in the store.and its a disadvantage for pickpocketers.they can easily be seen. |

It depends. If you don't really care about what people say and just want a certain product at a low cost, then i'd say Walmart is the way to go. But if you're the type who's brand-conscious then you'd probably shirk at the idea of going to a Walmart |

The catch a lot of flack for outsourcing, and not helping the ecomony. And it's true that they can offer lower/more competitive prices than local stores by doing so.
But as a father with 2 kids, I have to ask myself this question: Would I rather buy something for less money, or spend more (and get less in the end) by putting my hard earned money into the pockets of local stores who want to charge more for the same product.
Until they can show that Walmart's profits are linked to terrorist sponsorship - Walmart is the place for me. How more American can you get than helping a father (or family) be able to put clothes on my kids backs, and food in their mouth, and at the most competitive price you can find? |
