I think you have to look at what you are doing rather than the company as a whole. It wasn't your idea to set up the company, so you are just working for your money and self worth at doing a job well. I used to work for a power company and didn't always believe what they were doing was right, but just concentrated on the fact it was me doing a job to help others. There are always different ways of looking at it. They may be helping out someone who desperately needs a loan, for a wedding or a surpise holiday for someone who is terminally ill. Their joy at receiving the money will remain, even when they are paying back the loan. |

A debt collection company is a legitimate company. Its business is to collect debts and doing a service for others. I don't think its bad unless it is an unlicensed money lender. |

The purpose of the company is actually correction if you think about it, as people have not paid their debts back and adhered to credit law as they should have. In a way this is like being in the police, as they are upholding the law too (not the credit law though!).
The ultimate problem is with people who take credit then don't repay, not with a debt collection organisation! but it is understandable that it can be distressing for those people concerned.
you should look after your own interests and take the job if you will benefit. |

if they're not doing anything illegal, why not if you don't have any other choice? what debt collection company really has a good reputation anyway. i'd shy away if they knowingly continue to do things outside of the law. otherwise, it's a paycheck. |
