After 3 times, there should be a message that says: "All our agents are currently busy. Please call back in a few minutes" (if it's a toll free number). It really sucks when they make you hold on forever.
It should be this way: if after 7 minutes nobody has been able to answer, you should be able to leave your name & phone number so that they could call you back... If your call is that important, there should be no problem in doing that.

more frustratedly, u have to pay for your waiting for their slow if they dont have 0800 lines.
Interestingly, i found most of sales lines were 0800 and answered in the first min. since then, the existing customer service lines are hell.
