I wouldn't do it. If they wanted one so bad, and they are a corporation, let them pay for it. |

No it is common procedure for them to pay for it..Don't do it. |

no this is not standard practice. i do not know what type of job it is but as a person who has hired quite a few people 1,000's the company ALWAYS pays for the background check. they usually have a package program where they get unlimited checks for x amount of dollars. stop the charge and question the interviewer on it. |

i never heard anybody that gets charged for a background check< thats ridiculous just be carefull, good luck |

This is a rip off. No legit company is going to ask you to pay for a background check on yourself. Background checks are not required by law here...it is simply an option available to employers. If they want you to pay...tell that broke *** company to go **** them self and try for a job at a more legit company. I can't believe that ****. |

Sounds like a shady company. |

Paying a company for a job possibility is not standard practice, and I strongly recommend that you don't give them any money.
If they are not financially solid enough to pay for their own background checks, I'd worry that they weren't solid enough to cover their pay checks, either. |

$100 is way too much and should come from the company's pocket not yours.
WFG is a MLM scam.
You're not getting a job per se, you're getting recruited to become your own 'financial agent'. Plus you have to spend more money to get licensed. Then it's up to you to recruit or network to get clients. Guess who's your beginning clients, your parents, relatives and friends.
They give you the whole song and dance routine to get you sucked in. Showing you the expensive cars, boats and houses, loads of cash..etc.
Amway, Quixtar, Kirby are just as bad. Stay away. |

Anyone working in the financial field has to pass background & credit checks, but no prospective employee is ever asked to pay for it by any legitimate company. You do not have a job and you are out $100. Check your credit report and make sure you are not a victim of identity theft.
Also report the company with the names of the people who interviewed you, address, copies of all correspondence, and all other info you can possibly provide to your state's Department of Labor, and the state's Attorney General's office, Department of Consumer Affairs. |

NO! It is not DO NOT PAY IT! It's a ripoff operation. No legit company will ever ask you for money before hiring you. Ever. |

Did they ask you for your credit card number? Sounds like a scam if they did.
Not sure if that is common practice |

no this is not a standard practice. this is exactly like primerica where they make you pay for your training. if this company wants to hire you, and if they are giving you an interview you are a potential employee, they will pay for the check. jobs pay YOU, you don't pay them. |

Don't do it. |

My cousin (who can't manage her own checkbook) signed on with them. I would stay away from them. Especially since you have to pay for your own background check. If they really wanted you, they'd realize that hiring people costs money. |

My company runs criminal background checks on applicants, and it costs much less than $100. We probably run 150 per month and pay $150 per month under a high volume plan. And I certainly wouldn't ask the applicant to pay for it if I really cared about the applicant. |

No reputable company will ask you to pay for a background check if they require one for employment. If I were you, I would keep a very close check on your credit reports. I would also notify my bank that I suspect someone may try to make electronic withdrawals and to notify me about unusual transactions. I would also notify the credit card company that your account may have been compromised. |

NO YOU DONT DO THAT. WATCH OUT YOU DONT GET SCAMMED. NO HONEST COMPANY DOES THAT. I'D SUGGEST YOU LOOK FOR ANOTHER JOB, WHILE WORKING FOR THAT ONE. SOUNDS LIKE A COMPANY THAT ONE DAY MIGHT LEAVE YOU AND OTHERS WITHOUT PAY. |
|

AnnaBelle

Whoa that sounds ridiculous. IMHO, that should be an expense of the business as insurance against hiring someone who doesn't pass the check.
I hope this is a freaking good job. |

Don't do it. They can pay for their own background check and it doesn't cost that much anyway. This is a scam. |
