you have to go inside and give it to one of the tellers (the people inside). be sure you know your account number (not the number on the atm card, but the one on the bank statement)
if its cash it can be accessed immediately, checks take a day or so to clear |

Depositing at the ATM works just fine.
One would wonder why you wouldn't just use the cash for what you want ~ however, instantly; more or less. If it was a cheque deposit there may be a few days for clearing the cheque. 'Why not just use the cash ? |

You can make cash deposits at an ATM. When you say "use the money", you deposited cash so I guess you don't want ot withdraw it right away. You can write checks on it or use a debit card right away. Cash withdrawals are usually available in a day - as soon as the bank verifies your deposit. |

yes u can do it at the atm you justneed to put the money or check)dont forget to endorse it) in the envelope provided and put it through the machine. you will have to money right away. i would recommend not depositing cash though. its not always safe. |

Some ATM machines do take deposits, but usually only the ATM machines at branches of the bank with the account (not ones at gas stations, casinos, pharmacies, convenience stores, etc.). The wait for funds to be available is usually longer with an ATM than inside the bank, but the policy varies. |

Usually if you're depositing less than 250$ the balance is available immediately. Banks have caught on to people "depositing" money into ATMs and when the employee goes in to verify the deposit they find an empty envelope so they put a limit on it. I know Wamu was the worst at giving you your money right away after an ATM deposit but if it's only 100$ you should be just fine. |
