Lotto???? Nigeria???? Ever heard of the Nigerian 411 scams? Now think about it can you walk into your local store and get a lotto ticket without first picking the numbers and then paying for it? How the hell can you fall for someone out of the blue emailing you and telling you won 360 million? You didnt buy the ticket, you didnt pick the numbers, I bet you have never been to Nigera. Wanna know how these lotto scams work?
There are no lottery winnings waiting in the wings; there's naught but con men lurking back there tricking people into wiring "handling fees" directly into their accounts. The "lucky" winners scramble to pay the fees while the clock is ticking, and there are never any pots of gold at the end of their rainbows no matter how much they send or how quickly they send it. Just as in the more usual form of the Nigerian Scam, one scheme after another to move the fortune will fall through, with each new attempt funded by the one waiting for his multi-million dollar "something for nothing"; the victim of the lottery version will pay for the privilege of receiving nothing. The money always flows in the opposite direction from what the victims have been led to believe, but those conned by such schemes often don't realize this until after their wallets have been vacuumed out a bit.
I hope that anyone who reads this will learn to recognize a scam when they see it and not get take for their lifes savings. |

Its a lie for sure. I'm pretty sure that if u would followup with them they will ask u to first pay a tax for the amount that u have "supposedly" won or they will ask for ur savings or checking account # so that they can transfer the "won" money. I have had many experiences with that.
If u got the message email, it's very likely that they just sent the emails randomly to a bunch of people. For that reason, I'm guessing ur email address is pretty easy to remember and make up like danielclark@yahoo.com or something like that, whcih is pretty easy to guess. That's how these people do that. I read it once in New York Times that they send about 50000 emails in just one time and at least one stupid will respond to their offer and will be the victim of identity theft.
Sometimes, u may also get these types of messages randomly on ur fax.
So, don't be trapped in their scam.

It is a lie. Any email pertaining to anything from Nigeria is a scam.
I actually take the time to respond to those emails with several comments, all starting with the F word. |
