Am I the only person who makes two payments on their credit card bill in one month?
I've done this once before and only because I have a bit of a balance. Guess I figured if I have the money in my account right now, might as well make another payment on the credit card, before I spend the money and then don't have it for the next month's bill. It's my first credit card ever. Does anyone else tend to do this, or is it just me?
Additional Details
Thanks everyone for answering my question. I've never had credit before and am trying to build credit.
*Doug, I hope they don't raise it, it's already 19%. Thanks everyone, have a great day.

This is a great way to pay off the credit card early and save a lot of interest. Look at the interest rate your credit card is charging you and then consider that an early payment has just avoided that amount of money out of your pocket. Keep this up and you will look back at this and say "that was pretty wise of me". Good luck and keep it up.

My wife and I make several payments during the month, depending on how much we are using the card. I always pay off the balance each month, there is no interest charged if you do. Have two main cards, one for my business and one household.

Yea I do it from time to time

Nothing wrong with making 2 or more payments.

What I usually do is pay the minimum due immediately after the statement cuts that way if something happens, I get busy, whatever the payment is already made. Then I almost always pay at least 1 additional payment during the month.

I only make two payments if the bill gets too high. For instance, i pay my rent with my credit card (875$) and if my balance during the month gets over 1000$ i will pay it, then at the end of the money i will pay any extra money i have put on the card. I also only use my card for things i would normally pay cash for and i dont use it as a loan to buy that big screen TV or Stereo or whatever else.

Stinky's Mom
I do that...when I have the funds available to.

What I do is make my usual payment and then whatever I have extra I split between my savings and the credit card. It's made it really easy to pay off.

I usually only use my credit card for online purchases or at Christmas when I don't want my hubby to see what stores I am buying from, or my 1 "store" card that I get points towards purchases that that store.

I usually pay the charges off as soon as they post to the account (check the charges online and then use my banks "web pay" feature) or very soon after that. (Sometimes twice a month.)

No finance charges!

I started doing this when I made an online purchase with one of my cards intending to pay it off when the bill came. Well, the company switched billing systems and in the switch it reverted my address back to an old address (from 3 yrs prior) and I never got the bills and got hit with 2 months of late fees, finance charges, etc and a ding on my otherwise perfect credit! :(

I do that also. It will save you on interest - but for me, I do it to keep from spending it on something I don't need and use if for debt reduction. I also make two payments a month on my mortgage which cuts years of the payoff date.

I do it. Credit card companies don't like it, sometimes they will rase your intrest rate because of it because they aren't making more money off of you from intrest. (it happend to me once) If they do, just ditch that card and go to another one.
