It shouldn't be so because credit companies also require dob ,sex and address. |

I would write a letter and copy it to all 3 major credit bureaus. It is illegal for them to falsely report negative items that are inaccurate once you have notified them of the inaccuracy.
Under the Fair and Accurate Credit Transaction (FACT) Act of 2003, credit bureaus must correct erroneous entries once you have proven the mistakes.
Sign a letter that explains what your name is, and what her name is, and inform them that you both live at the same address. Also, send one copy to each credit bureau via Certified US Mail, and keep the other dated copy for your records. Within 30 days, each bureau should respond by sending you a corrected credit report (without credit score) listing your account information.
If you are not satisfied with their corrections, then file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. Hope this helps! |

Get your credit report on line from Experian. That way when you want to prove your credit rating is sound you can show your report while at the same time explaining the name situation. There are a number of other credit companies you can obtain details from on line just type in credit reports. Good luck. |

You shouldn't be screwed.
Get the banks and credit companies to read the credit search properly, it's the individual that gets blacklisted not the address.
If your credit rating is good your sisters bad habits shouldn't penalise you. |

talk to the credit refernce agencies, they do things that allow you to "dis-associate" yourself with a particular person |

Im an ex-bankrupt, now discharged, but unable to get credit even though I was discharged from bankruptcy over 7 years ago. My husband has no history of bad credit but he cannot get a credit card, bank loan, anything......so Im guessing its caused by "association" with me, sorry, prob not the answer you were looking for !! :-) but its worth contacting the major credit reference agencies and getting a note added to your file (usually free) - stating "dissassociation" from your sister. hope this helps, I know how annoying it is !! |

you can apply to the credit reference agencies to have a note put on your account about this - they can also apply a password that only you know to your account so that she cannot apply for credit in your name......... you need to get this sorted before it gets any worse as once it is on your file it is pretty tricky to have it removed completely. |

Get a copy of your credit report, and study it closely. Write a letter to the big 3 credit reporting agencies disputing anything that you are not responsible for. In the US, they are required by law to respond to written disputes. Explain the situation, and you should be able to improve your credit score.
Of course, if it turns out that you're trying to explain your own bad debts by passing them off as your sister's, then you'll be committing fraud. The reporting agencies are required to deal with that, also. |

Credit agencies are rubbish with things like this, the whole system should be based around something like National Insurance Numbers which are specific to a person.
I think your going to have problems, move out asap and get some space between you and your sister. |

some credit companies go by address and if your name is similar they may think it is a typo error on their system and not take chance in giving you credit.
Ever thought about changing your name by depol!! |

Maybe not, you need to get a credit report and if there are any from your sister, you need to dispute them before it gets too bad. |
