Anonymous Prepaid Credit card?
So... I want a prepaid credit card which i can get in a different name and address. It's because i was suspended from Ebay, totally unfairly (I did nothing wrong!) but i need to get back onto it to sell as its my livelyhood and no other auction sites are coming close. i downloaded an ebook which told me how to get back onto ebay but i need a prepaid credit card in my "new" address and name. Its not fraud as its not obtaining credit in a false address, its just like a mobile phone top up card. My question is, these seem easy to get in the USA but where or how cani get one in the UK where I dont have to show proof of who I am or my address? Any I bought online would obviiously need my real address to send it to me! Help, im deperate.
Additional Details
I would be willing togive my personal name and address to anyone i traded with, im an honest person trying to make an honest living. i am sick to death of speaking to robots at ebay. they suspended me because they believed my account was affiliated with another suspended account, because our surnames are the same!!! I have spoken to them REPEATEDLY as its ridiculously but they still just tell me Im banned for 12 months. Ive done nothing wrong at all and now they are refusing to even acknowledge my emails. I hate ebay but need them to make my living. :(

What the Deuce?!
Whether you're in the UK, or in any other country, I wouldn't recommend creating a false name or identity. What you're suggesting might not be fraud (or in some other way illegal), but if anything AT ALL goes wrong in the future, it might be construed as fraud.

I don't know what the laws are like in the UK, but I do know that eBay requires that you use a real name. In the US, they require a Social Security number as a proof that you "exist". I'm sure there's a similar requirement in the UK.

As others have mentioned, one way to do this would be to find a close friend or relative (who's surname is different from yours), and open an entirely new eBay account in his/her name. Of course, you would also have to use a credit card (or a Paypal account, or whatever) that is ALSO in your friend's name.

Another idea---depending on what kind of selling/buying volume you're doing on eBay---would be to incorporate yourself. You would actually begin an operating business, and you would "hire" one or more people to work on your behalf. Any payments or debits from eBay transactions would be in the name of your company, not in your own name. The problem is (here in the US, anyway), it costs some money to incorporate, AND there is lots of paperwork involved (registering with the Internal Revenue Service), AND there is some waiting involved (you have to wait until the IRS processes your information, before you can proceed to open accounts etc. under your business name).

A third option is that you could simply wait-out the suspension period at eBay. There are other online auction resources (smaller than eBay, but they do exist). It's up to you to decide how much of your work (income) is through eBay, and whether you can afford to wait.

I think that you need to go back to E-bay and find out what you can do to correct the situation with them.

I see what we call in the US "red flags" and if you are not willing to use your name and want to pretend you're someone else, I'd be hesitant to do business with you.

All prepaid card companies require you to give your ssn # + valid address . . . its because of patriot's act after 9/11 they dont want terrorists to carry money in a card and going overseas. . ..

However, as long as you have a new cc #, eBay will let you sign up for a new account. (Paypal will not though!). Best thing to do is probably get someone you know to get one for you?

You can get a prepaid card in the UK called 3V. It is a prepaid visa card that you top up at PayPal sites. I have one in a made up name.
You hand the card over with the amount you want to put on, plus a £3.50 handling fee. They email you the 16 digit card number plus 3 digit security code. A lot of shops don't know about the handling charge so never ask for it, and I'm not going to tell them!!.
You could try the other prepaid cards but they do require ID. The one I use is Titanium cash plus available from Money Shop.
I'm sure if you scan a utility bill into the computer along with other ID and what pops out, well..........

Ask a family member nicely to use theirs, in their address. They'd have to really trust you, mind.

Do you want my credit card details?
Oh. alright..

Heres my bank details too..

If I were you, I would first:

Contact ebay dispute resolution and try to get your account reinstated.

If that didn't work, I would suggest talking to a friend or relative to sell under their account, with their knowledge and permission.

Edited to add after reading your additional details- OMG that is just WRONG. What a pain in the butt...too bad everything is automated like that. I definitely suggest using a close friend or family member to establish an account instead.

Trying to obtain credit using a false name or address is fraud.

Contact eBay and attempt to correct the issue that caused you to be banned. If you did 'nothing wrong' then there shouldn't be an issue. If you were reported for failing to pay, false listings, scamming buyers, then you should provide documentation that you followed their rules. (You listed things accurately, you shipped promptly, you worked out disputes honestly, etc.)

I would contact Ebay and see what they had a problem with first.

I also sell on Ebay & at least here in the US, Ebay has to verify that you are who they say you are, especially if you selling because they need to be able to bill your bank account for fees. I would contact Ebay online using their live help & explain to the representative what you told us (not about wanting to create a false name to sell under, but the other stuff.) Ebay is slow, but they will help you get it figured out eventually. Good Luck!
