Bank of America is great, especially their on-line bill paying feature.

The answer to your question is no, there are not any good banks out there. They are all lying, cheating, stealing sons of ... you get the idea. If evil does exist, it is in the form of the modern bank.

WAMU Checking:
No fees
No minimum balance
Free checks
Cash back on debit purchases
Free Bill Pay/Online banking
Free wire transfers

They do have a monthly fee if you use a non-WAMU ATM ($2/month). Get cash from the grocery store.

Stay away from Wells Fargo. They have about $30 in fees on their free checking accounts.

I used to work for Wells Fargo. I referred pissed off customers to Washington Mutual all the time.

I prefer Chase. I think it's good bank with good reputation. Many people have problems with Discover. I think you should consider banks offers to find best for you.
