Any suggestions for someone with bankruptcy on their credit that would now like a credit card?
I had to file bankruptcy 6 years ago, because of a previous marraige. I would like to have a credit card now. It is really hard to find one that will approve me. Does anyone know of a credit card company that would approve me?

Try Orchard bank, Capital One and First Premier.

Have to ask, why did you wait so long? You should have done this as soon as your BK discharged.

Been in your place. Contact all the credit card companies in order by the lowest interest rate. See if you can negotiate a payback and have them reinstate the card. Tell them of the circumstances surrounding the BK. It can't hurt.

You can join a credit union that has their own credit cards. They are nicer than banks, as they are working for their members and not for stockholders.

been there, done that!
My suggestion, you are better off without one!
BUT...
try providian, orchard bank or household credit

Also capital one!

Captal One, but be warned they will rip you off. beleive me you are better off without the card just get a visa mac crad on your checking account and remain cash rich.

there are banks that will issue you a credit card but the interest rate is terribly high.

if your job is good go ahead and apply for it... i know someone who is doing well after going thru the same thing and she just bought a new car...

Good luck.

Your best bet is a high-interest card with a low credit limit. You are probably best off contacting your bank or a debt counselor. The worst thing you can do is apply for a lot of cards at once, because your credit being checked that many times in a row will only hurt your credit score further.

there is always someone to give to credit, however because of your bankrupcy, you are not going to get a high credit limit, and your interest rate will be borderline illegal, your best option is to go to someone in your family with good credit, ask them to put you on their credit card, there fore their credit will become your credit, in time you will be able to get back on your feet, use this time to formulate a plan so you never have to go the bankrupcy route again, it stays on your credit record at least 10 years.

You will have to start with a secured card first. You only have a year to go though and the BR should drop off.

Sit back and ride it out.
You know better
Don't do it again.
