I think all business cards still require your SSN#, as you are still personally responsible for the payment of the bill. Just because its a business card, that does not change. |

Hi I actually have a Business credit card and account through Wells Fargo.
That institution is solely for my business transactions. As well as the credit card.
I am sure when I applied, I gave my EIN for information, but since I am a Sole Proprietor, I also gave my SS# too.
But!! When I signed the applications and anything regarding that account, I sign it in my business name, nothing in my name.
Let me know what else you find out.
I have the feeling they want the SS# to still hold an Individual accountable. |

AMEX is not a credit card but functions similarly to one. Discover has a business card, Chase offers one and so do several other major financial institutions. Here's a website that compares them...albeit from one competitior's viewpoint! |

When applying for a credit card, take into consideration the annual fees as well as percentage rates. Since the businesses spend large amounts on their purchases, a card with the smaller percentage fee will not increase the balance sharply. Also, the increasing competition has practically eliminated the annual fees, since all the card issuers expect you to use their cards.
Most of the cards give you reward with bonus points if you use them regularly. These points are meant to motivate you to use your card more frequently or to use it at specific retailers. But if you do not use it judiciously, it can land you in trouble. |
