go to daily mirror money page (mirror group newspapers).there is a new card brought out that you prepay and you cannot get into debt. sorry cant remember name of the card but it gets advertised in that paper most days |

Hi mate,other than which you say cash plus,there is a company in Manchester EasyKard,(but there cards are not chip n pin)they are also visa and not MasterCard,people have problems using there cards because they are not registered at your address but one in los Angele's,so if you purchase something on line and your delivery address is in the UK the merchant tends to think that your using a stolen card from the states and declines the purchase,the best so far is the gold MasterCard from cash plus.
All the others are Debit style cards which can only be used in limited transactions.

Hi, you can pre pay any credit card. Just make a payment to your account as if you owed them money but as long as you don't this will put your account in credit which you can spend on the card at a later date. For this reason I don't think "pre pay" credit cards exist. |

Hello,
(ANS) YES!! Visa Electron definately do a "debit card" (not a credit card) which you can pre-load with funds and this can be used in the normal way in the high street, in cash machines (ATMs), over the phone for purchases, for all normal purchases. The card cannot run up debts because you can only spend what you have on your card. There is no overdraft facility but the card can be topped up via a simple phone call.
