This is the order of importance for items on your credit report: 1. mortgages, 2. car payments, 3. credit cards, then 4. medical. If you are late or behind, start with the most important items first because they will have the biggest impact.

*** As for credit cards, you have to keep your balances under 50% of your credit limit, or they will knock your score way down.

pay off all existing debt. First pay the card with the highest interest rate off first while paying the minimum payment on the other cards. Once the card is paid off, move on to the next and so on.

Get a small loan for 24 months and pay it back in 12. You can also apply for a secured credit card. Make sure they belong to the credit bureau.

Judy
Pay off any credit card in full.
Watch it skyrocket.
Never carry a balance if you can - that can destroy your credit worthiness.

Pay off your debt.

Fast, If you mean in a week - no. Credit reports are about two months behind so if you pay off credit card it won't reflect for 2 month but your score should go up.

Bureaus for this answer: Equifax, etc.

Credit rating has little to do with what you owe on revolving debt. Rather than thin k of ways to raise your credit here are the things that Ding you big time:

Missing payments on CC ( or late ) Show up on public record Bureaus.
Missing multiple payments raise your interest rate. More impact on your Bureaus.
Not paying your car note. Paying your car note ( partial ) . Not agreeing to the terms of the contract. Hurt your Bureaus.

Anything you do to avoid this ... any time you don't pay and they charge it off, then you have a closed account and can't charge any more. If you pay late, but still end up paying they like you. They charge you late payment fee and it usually is bigger than the payment you made.

Fix your score : Takes just as long as it takes to ruin it. If you have one BUMP or BRUISE ... it is a easy fix. If you have many ... you have to re-establish a payment history on your current accounts and also new accounts.

One sure way to ruin your Bureaus is to be irresponsible and ignore your financial issues. You will have car insurance problems and will also possibly be fired from your job if your employer has credit requirements for being hired and retaining your employment.

well it won't happen overnight, but you can see a change in a month or so. pay bills early and pay more if possible. I bought a car in sept and when I exchanged it in dec. my credit score went up by 150 points! boy was I happy!
