Nobody is allowed to harass you. Go down to the county criminal court and swear out a misdemeanor criminal complaint against him. (You can do that in NYC, or could some years ago when I filed one against my landlady for "converting" (stealing) my fridge.) You have to serve it in person; you are entitled to be accompanied by a police officer if you like.
Scares the wits out of them and makes them stop. |

No they aren't. If they call you, tell them to stop all calls and put everything in writing directed to your home address. |

I think that in any state they are not allowed to call you at work. Call and check with the legal aid association. |

If you tell them to stop calling your place of employment, that is called putting them on notice. If they continue to call you at work you can sue the company they work for.The answer is no. If you put them on notice. I worked in collections for a short time. |

Not really, but if that is the number they have, then they will keep calling you. You can file a harrassment charge if you like. |

I don't know the rules in N.Y. We live in Ontario Canada. The collectors do it here also but we have an organization called Acorn that will put a stop to the harrassment. Maybe N.Y. has a similar organization. You could possibly find them on-line or maybe through Acorn. |

I believe if you tell them not to call you there anymore, legally they aren't allowed to. |

Unfortunately, they can if they have your employment info. If they weren't allowed then they'd be breaking the law. Only thing you can do is tell them to not contact you at your place of employment. |
