euges116 | Are the creditors going to come after me for credit debt? |
I studied abroad for a year in England, and had a credit card issued from a British bank. I had 1 pound in balance on my card (that's like $2.00 USD). I've been back in the States for a year, and the interest is slowly building up, like a few cents each month, and it's like $2.50 now. I haven't paid it yet. Will the bank hand their file to a credit card debt agency and will they come after something as low as $2.50??? |

Not for $2.50 that would be Stupid and most collection agencies would not even take that amount
I bet the Minimum payment is zero (UK has different requirements then the US.)
I know it is harder to pay bills from other countries because of the currency conversions and the bank wont or cant accept certain type of payments.
If you do decide to pay them. Pay them $1.00 more to cover the interest for next month. Even through you will have a small credit on the account. |

Gosh, credit card companies - hisssss !
We'd really expect that for a miniscule amount like that, that they'd let it go, but they're CREDIT CARD COMPANIES ! ! !
Their track record/reputation is foreboding at least. It only takes one clerk to pass your paperwork to the left instead of the right, for things to go downhill fast. We're not really dealing with logic and understanding, usually, it may take a lot of follow-up and reaching out on the consumer's part to keep tabs on a company's procedures/steps.
I'm not familiar w/the methods used in Britian, you might know if they're more lenient or punitive than the US. Regardless (for time'd be running out by now), here's what I'd do (oh, yeah): Send them a payment that's over the amount (say by, ah, fifty cents) and let them enjoy the paperwork necessary to cut, process and mail that thing to ya'.
Hey, since they've been so steady with your account, why not open a savings account there?! Let 'em pay you. hahaha |

I went round and round with a credit card company once because my balance was $0.00, and they wanted their damn check for $0.00!
I'm I kidding? I only wish I weren't. |

They will come after you for the money, no matter how little. Just go ahead and pay it before you wind up screwing up your credit rating. |
|

uhhuh
 |
Just pay the $2.50...it will continue to add up and come back to haunt you when you owe $2500.00 |

Oh people, grow up and quit blaming the credit card companies. YOU are the one who signed up for THEIR service. You knew what it was like before. How would you like it if a friend asked to borrow $4000 and you were able to give it to them, and refused to pay it. It would suck huh?
Back to this question, you are screwing up your credit. They may not come after you for it, but they are reporting it as 30, 60, 90, 120, etc. days past due. That does some SERIOUS damage to your credit report, and the credit reporting agencies don't care if it was 25 cents that was past due. It's the fact, plain and simple, that you are not trustworthy and people should not give you credit. (That was "you" in the general form, not you personally) |

They may not come after you, but add it to your credit report, so that long term you may pay more, or even get refused a loan. For that amount why not just pay it. Send them a bank check or something, so that later you would have proof that you did make good if something should ever be said other wise. In short spend the $ 4.00, and keep your name good. You will either pay a little now, or a higher interest rate later. |

probably not til you let it accrue to a little higher balance.. but your credit is just slowly going to be ruined. |
