Are the pre pay credit cards legit or is it a scam?

Yes, they are legitimate. The only difference between prepaid cards and normal credit cards is that you have to put money on the card before you can use it, similar to a mobile phone top up.

There is also a small fee to buy the card initially, and then depending on the card some charge a small amount for transactions and topping up. These fees come in because with a credit card, they make money from you by charging you interest. However, because with a prepaid card you're not borrowing money, they can't charge interest and so introduce small charges elsewhere.

The great thing about prepaid cards is anyone can get one. Theres 100% acceptance, even if you have bad credit because your not borrowing money.

Kids over the age of 10 can get one, so they can carry the card and have money if they need if it in an emergency, and their parents can top up their account for them.

Its also great for online buying, as it shields you bank account from fraudsters. Whereas with a normal debit card, someone could empty your whole bank account, with a prepaid card the most they could take is the cards balance, and not take the money from your main account.

For more info about prepaid cards, and comparisons of a range of cards have a look at the site below.

They are legimet yes, all genuine, nothing wrong with them. However with all the fee's that are involved anyway it can work out to be a little pricey.. for example.. say you put £10 onto it.. you will proberbly only get 6-8 pounds of that back.. with all the handling fee's and what not. But at the end of the day if you need that spending power then you should go for it :D

They are legit, pick one carefully though, avoid one's with monthly charges. Virgin seems to be the best one if your in UK

Provided you are getting them from somewhere reliable and not the bloke down the pub, then yes, they are legit. Talksport do one. Look at:https://www.talksportcard.co.uk/
No fees, just a one off £9.95 to buy one.

It is all about the company that represents the product itself.

Pre-pay credit cards are a good credit repairing vehicle. I only suggest a companies with Visa or Mastercard logos.

There are really three types of secured credit cards.

1. Secured Credit Cards- which require you to open a savings account to the effect of your desired credit limit.

2. Clearing House Cards- which require you only to buy merchandise from them. (Normally overpriced electronics or other goods that they report to the credit agencies)

3. Pre-Paid cards which are mostly intended for those people traveling that want an alternative to cash.

When choosing any credit card I always suggest taking a look at their rating on www.bankrate.com. They will break down all the offers in each class and provide you a good comparison of fees and other limitations.

They are legal and evreyone accpets them with no problem the only catch is when you purchase it you don't actually purchase the card you get a card with serial numbers to activate and then they will give you your actual credit card # exp. Date and CID and then they will mail you the card in like 2 weeks with your name on it and everything. But it works fine it's only 4.95 per month. I used greendot.
