Are there any real resolutions for someone with a bad credit score!?

Tag Your It
Yeah, stop buying Sh** you don't need. And pay off your debts.

Time and responsible action. Pay off all debts, starting with the oldest, highest rate. Don't make new debt until everything is straightend out. Then pay off any cards monthly. If you can't afford it (don't have the $ in the bank) don't buy it.
If there are errors on your report, fight them. Don't pay anyone to do this type of work for you.
If you are in real financial trouble there may be some help with consumer credit counselors, but I have heard that it is difficult to qualify for this.
Make a budget and stick to it and get out of debt.

It can be a slow process, but it can be done.

Some CC companies offer accts. that are secured by a savings acct. with them. The balance of your savings account is your credit limit. They increase the limit based on your credit performance. Providian has offerred this before.

The very best thing you can do is pay your bills, car payments, mortgage payments, etc. on time every time without fail. Also, get rid of all but a couple credit card accounts. Keep the older ones if you can. Your long history (hopefully good) will help your report look better.

With good performance, your rating will improve, and then you will be eligible for all sorts of offers. However, I urge you to learn how to get pleasure from tearing such offers up for the trash. I tear over a dozen such offers every week...with pleasure.

If your score is bad because you have missed a lot of payments, etc. it is tough. But if you just have a poor debt to income ratio, try consolidating your debt into one account at a good interest rate. This will help your score and save you money. Also, some CC companies will give you a chance if you are "Green" no matter what your credit score. Others will never give you a card if your score is bad. If you have been late on payments try to pay off these accounts or consolidate them and add a statement to your credit bureau file saying the payments being late were a misunderstanding as to the true deadlines. This may help.

Credit Guru
First off, where did you get your "bad" credit score from, which bureau, and why is it bad. (Public records like Bankruptcy or Judgments, Collections, Late Payments, repossessions) Depending on what information is in your files will determine what is affecting your score.

Get copies of your credit reports at www.annualcreditreports.com. Review them and dispute the incorrect and unverifiable information (or hire a reputable law firm to dispute them for you) and start the credit clean up process. If your credit as bad as you say it is this will take about a year. Don't apply for any credit during this time unless absolutely neccesary.

When you feel that your files are as "clean" as they can be go to www.myfico.com/12 and get the real credit scores from the 3 credit bureaus along with the top 4 reasons that your scores aren't higher

GOOD LUCK
