ABSOLUTELY...and proud of it. I am not afraid of credit and I use to manipulate my credit score and to build an income. I bounce balances back and forth to avoid paying interest and to make me look awesome on my TRW's. I also use the money from the cards to invest...and I do mean INVEST and not SPEND. I put the money toward buying homes, renovating, and dabbling in the stock market. Eventually, I sell the properties I am investing in and get to put a fat chunk of change into my bank account.
You see, without credit, you can't get more credit. Without more credit, you can't invest. I work with a lot of wealthy people and am wealthy myself...and the one thing I've learned is rich people get rich by borrowing wisely. Money and debt is just a game.

About $33,000 in debts, mostly from cash advances from Visa to go play the slot machines over the last 10 years.
My plan: Don't go to a casino at all in 2008.
Then live cheap for the next 12 months. I've done a written budget, and I should be able to save $3300/month, which will have the debts paid off by Christmas 2008. |

I was, about $18,000 worth, and also, 2 car loans, a mortgage, and more. I cutoff cable and internet, shopped for food a lot smarter, and made other cutbacks as needed. My fiance and I paid off over $40,000 in 15 months and 17 days. Other than my mortgage, I have no other debt. |

nope i dont plan to get a credit card until i am in my junior maybe senior year of college. my philosophy- if i dont have the money to buy it now and dont know where the money is going to come from then i dont need it then and if i dont absolutely need then borrow it from someone else |

yeah, majorly!!!!!!! Try $11,000 of pointless spending. I managed to rack up this much dept in about a year. What did I buy? Dooney & Burke bags, clothes, makeup, shoes, you name it I bought it. I finally fessed up to my hubby about my spending and debt and he totally flipped. He threatened me with divorce like 40 times for lying to him about it. I was addicted to spending and buying new things. So he took all of the CC's and shredded them. Now , we applied for a debt consolidation loan so we can have one lower payment per month. We plan on paying more than the minimum loan payment to pay it off quicker and avoid the HEFTY 20% interest on the loan. Its insane , right? I know. But, this is my punishment for being such an idiot, obsessed with material objects. I deserve this and maybe I'll finally learn my lesson. |

Yes, I have some. I make the monthly payments and try not to add to the balance. Funny thing is, usually when I get within one or two payments of completely eliminating the debt, an emergency of some sort or another comes up and I whip out the plastic. It's a never-ending story. |
