I need a small personal loan for $2000.00 but my credit probably isn't the greatest. I'm not really sure what is in my credit report. I was approved for a computer from dell a while back but maybe they aren't as strict.
Additional Details
The co-applicant would be my dad and his credit is good as he has several credit cards and he always makes sure his payments are on time. But he's a senior and on a pension.
And I don't think I'm being selfish as I really need some dental work done and have every intention of making my payments. |

The bank might ask you if you have a co-signer, tell them no. Only if you can't get approved on your own, then tell them you can come up with a co-applicant. If you are straightforward with them and tell them up front you have a co-applicant, they might not try as hard to get you approved by yourself. If you belong to a credit union, try that route first as they are more lenient with giving loans. |

I think it would depend on the credit history of your co-applicant. $2000.00 doesn't seem like a lot of money to require a co-signer, but maybe your bank is more strict than mine. |

It would depend on the co-applicants credit rating. Obviously, a co-applicant provides added security to the lender. However, if their credit is poor, it could have the opposite effect. |

If your cosigner has good credit, you stand a good chance of getting the loan. You definately probably won't get one without a cosigner. |

If your co applicant has great credit then i would say yes you are more likely to be approved with one. Try it without a co first they will tell you if you need one. |

If your coapplicant has good credit yes. But it is a selfish thing to ask for. Work on improving your credit instead of dragging other's credit through the mud. |
