you need to write to experian and ask for your credit file. Then you need to sit down and go through it with a fine tooth comb working out who u owe money to.
If it's only one or two, try calling them and paying them back. They will change your score once the debt has been repaid but im not sure how long that will take. If it's an enormous amount you gotta decide what to do yourself.
If the debt is not resolved it will remain on there until you do. |

Depends on the reason your rating is bad.
If you owe money-can you pay it back? If so, then once paid you can inform the credit agency and they will remove it once they have proof from creditors.
If you are unaware of the reason why your C.R, is bad, check that you are on the electoral roll. This is a common reason for poor credit rating. Lastly, it may seem strange, but if you have never had credit, this may be a reason: yoiu are unknown to the agency therefore they don't know if you are a good risk.
If you are in severe debt, employed and willing to pay a reduced amount for five years, then do try an IVA (individual voluntary payment sheme)(if you are in UK). This way, you may be able to apply for credit after the five years of reduced regular payments This is a relatively new solution to overwhelming debt and is an acceptable alternative to bankruptcy.
Hope this helps |

You can get information on how to check yur credit file with the 3 main credit reference agencies here:
http://www.flmloans.co.uk/credit-file.php
Once you have established that there is nothing negative on there that you want to have removed. You woul be best getting a small loan or a low-limit credit card.
You may be able to apply for a loan here:
http://www.advatageloansuk.co.uk
alternatively this company specialises in arranging credit cards with no credit history:

Avoid debt, pay your bills on time. It's hard now days for many of us because inflation keeps prices so high and noone wants to pay much and the government doesn't seem to be all that interested. |

You need to closely monitor your credit report, maintain a job, pay your bills on time and keep positive lines of credit open, such as a car, apartment etc. and avoid negative credit, such as department store cards, and other sketchy loan or pay advance businesses. Everyone struggles with a rough credit rating, it takes a long time to repair your credit and cannot be done overnight or within weeks. With Bankruptcy for example, it can take seven years for a clean record. With negative credit ratings or marks for late bills or unpaid bills, that can haunt you for many, many years. |

1.You need to request a copy of your credit report from experian, they can send you this via post for a charge of £2
2. You need to go through your credit report to make sure all information is correct
3. Check to see if there are any arrears or missed oayments on any of your accounts, if they are there in error, contact experian to let them know. if they are there and should be there, you will just have to wait it out if you have already paid the default.
4. If you have done a lot of credit searches recently it will bring your scoring down. Wait at least 6 months before applying for any more credit/phones etc |

Well, there are things you can do. Since I don't know whether your credit score is low because of not having enough credit, or because of high debt, or because of poor payment history, it is hard for me to be really specific. Start with the basics. Pull all 3 of your credit reports at www.freecreditreport.com. Make sure they are accurate and try to understand them. Consult a couple of good web sites (www.badcredit.com) with lots of resources including free credit counseling and (http://www.finishrich.com/free_resources/fr_credit.php), which also has resources. Since I am in real estate, I most commonly deal with people who are trying to set themselves up to be a homeowner in the not too distant future (a step I recommend for everyone who does not already own a home). The most effective way to clean up your credit is to have a local lender run your reports and be specific on how to improve your credit, and track the improvement. In as little as 2 months you can start to see an improvement. Remember, you can be forgiven of a violent crime faster than being forgiven for paying a bill late - so don't ever pay your bills late. |

this is completely answering your question but if your in credit card debt borrow money from the bank to pay off the credit card as the bank has a lower interest rate. |

If you have any ccjs that have expired you can have these removed aswell as closed accounts. you need to obtain a credit report which costs £2 from experian and see exactly whats going on, if you have applied for lots of credit that can also go against you, so only apply for what you need! Make sure that companies are not marking 0's against you for missed or late payments that you paid ontime! I had an account with studio cards which I paid the balance in full every month and they were marking missed payments on my credit report, I had a few choice words with them to say the least! If you live with other people its possible that creditors are obtaining information about anyone at the same address when they check your credit so send an e-mail to experian and explain that you which to be treated as an individual and no one else is to appear on your credit report unless they are in a joint account. taking out small things like a £100 loan from provident and then just paying it off quickly is great for your credit It shows that you are a responsible borrower! I wouldnt recommend provident for any larger loans though too high an interest rate but its just an example! |
