I'm sure people have done it, and more people will continue to try it, but it' s just like telling a lie, you will have to keep on telling it. It will catch up with you, and lastly it's fraud. It will take time and patience, but it will be more rewarding to do it yourself, and you will have a better understanding of where and how you went wrong, and less of a chance to do it over again. Good credit is an asset, Bad credit a liability. Learn from your mistakes, and become credit worthy, you will be better for it.
Good luck !!!! |

Won't work - they will need more information than your name, such as social security number, and prior financial information willl be disclosed. You should work on correcting your credit rating, because your situation will only get worse, not better, if you don't address it. |

No, because most things are based on your SS#, not your name. Also, when you sign for major purchases, they ask for your name and any other names/aliases you have gone by. If you lie on the application, it's considered fraud. |

legally you can call yourself anything you like so long as it is not to commit fraud.
oh yes - trying to avoid your correct credit history IS fraud, so guess what. NO NO NO NO NO you can't, sorry. |

Tons of people have tried it and it doesn't work. The computers would find out the truth about your background. Focus instead of making your credit better and stop spending so much. You will feel better about yourself once you stop this cycle of spending, running out of credit, wanting more credit, getting it, spending, etc. Stop it. When you get paid, put some of it away and use the rest to pay off your bills. If you don't you will only get into more and more trouble with the creditors. You are not alone and if you can get it into your mind that credit is a crutch and not a good thing. If you can get that idea early on in life then it is easier to turn the cycle around. Talk to a bank manager and see what they can suggest to help you. |

What you want to change? your name, your address your family. For only to through out your bad credit its not a good idea. So I suggest you to save money and resolve your bad credit.
Its the easiest way and also safe way for you. |

I don't recommend you change your name. You can open a statement savings account that offers a debit card. Keep that account in good standing for about 6 months and then try to open a checking account with that same bank. after a while you can obtain credit with them. |

No because they need you date of birth, National Insurance no. and household bills with your name and address on it |

Do you not think that they might become slightly suspicious when your personal details are the same? |

No, its fraud. |

Interesting question. If you change your name legally with the intention of obtaining credit you could be prosecuted for fraud.
The added story that is spun is telling lies to obtain credit, which is out and out fraud |

I wouldn't recommend doing that 'cos its fraud. Don't worry 'cos there are ways to repair your credit, its not as hard as you think it is, it just takes some time. |
