Bad credit car loan?
Okay i have awful credit from past young stupid mistakes. I make great money now and could easily afford a car payment. however, i cannot find anyone willing to take a chance. i realy wish you could 'rent-to-own' a car kind of like rent-a-center lol. anyway i have looked at all the places listed online and either i get no reply or it seems really fishy when i read about it- any suggestions? i have no car and everything i need to get to is at least 30 mins away (grocery store, bank, etc) thank you for any help.
Additional Details
thanks for the details. i will look into leasing further a few places told me they only leased to perfect credit- i found that odd.

i do have 2,000 for a down payment but i cant wait to pay a car in full as mentioned. as i said everything i need to be able to get to is a 30 min one way drive and i have no family in this area and friends dont have tiem to drive 4 hrs to take me places. im out here for work and a bit stuck. thanks for the great advice.

You might want to consider a used car to start with - in that you can probably find a good one (Car Max) and get a small loan to help build up your credit rating. Any way you look at it you will not get a 0% loan because that is based on good credit (doesn't make sense).
At the same time, if you do get a conventional car loan you will pay a higher interest rate but after making payments for a year and making sure that all your payments are ontime (as well as not taking out anymore credit) you can refinance the car loan at a much lower rate because you will have shown a history of paying your bills ontime (especially the car loan).

Save some money for a down good down payment. 1/3.
$2000 in cash is hard for a salesman to turn down.
The best time to buy a car with cash is between Christmas and New Years day. They have spent all their money on christmas and the want to party on New years. Cash talks.

Dont look online, look in your local paper. There are many many aftermarket lenders that have secondary or even in house financing. Your past mistakes are my history too. I know what it is like to feel desparate needing one. However, if you can borrow since you make good money, you can buy an old 30 mile & back "hoopedy" for $1000. It will last till you can save $5,000 then you take that in to your credit union or the dealer to ask for financing - that my friend will get you back on your good feet. The secondary lenders have NO PROBLEM taking something back even if you only owe one payment.

You should try going to a dealership and buying a car straight from them instead of on the internet. Especially right now, car dealerships are desperate to sell cars and are doing 0% interest in a lot of places.. and they will bend over backwards to make a loan work and sell you a car. Plus, if you make good money.. then putting a down payment down will help you out a lot. You will also probably have better luck leasing a car if you don't drive a lot of miles to and from work. Just be careful with car leasing because the residual can come back and bite you in the rear if you don't watch your miles. Best of Luck.

Simple. Since you make "great money" save up enough to purchase a used car with cash. In the mean time try taking out some very small loans via credit cards. Use them judiciously and pay the balance off every month. This may take a year, but eventually you'll build up your credit. BTW I'm in my late 40's and drive an 11 year old Hyundai. I Can afford a new car and have credit to do so but it runs great and is paid for so who cares? I don't need to impress anyone and would rather spend my hard earned money on more important things like vacations and making my home nice. After all you don't live in your car. Anyone who would judge you by what you drive isn't worth knowing anyway. Glad your life's on track! Great job. Keep it up.

I don't know where you live, but I could try to get you done on a loan!! Let me know! I am in Wisconsin and have really good relationships with alot of my lenders. -I am a finance manager at a GM dealership.

Do you have a checking and savings account with any bank or credit union? If so they should allow you a loan with direct debit payments from your account.

Stay away from on-line deals or lease offers. You may need to settle for an older car for now and then try for something new after you have maintained good credit for 6 months.

You might be able to lease a car (most new car dealers have that option) with an option to buy at the end of the lease. Just keep in mind that to lease a car most dealers require a down payment at signing which can range from $1000 to $5000 depending on the cost of the vehicle. Try a VW dealer; they have been having some pretty good leasing options lately.

Can't you take out a personal loan? Cheaper interest. Or get down and sAVE that money.
Anyway you shouldn't take out a big loan for a non tax deductable item.

Get a scooter.
