Well according to your last question that you just deleted, you self-admittedly claim to LIVE OFF OVERDRAFTS....so of course the bank is going to charge you each time they LOAN you the money that you do not have! What do you expect? That's the cost of living beyond your means.... |

You can reclaim your bank charges by either downloading the letter template from money saving expert.
or you cab use a company like bank-smart.co.uk
be aware that bank smart takes a 10% fee and if your charges over the last 5 years are less than 500 it really aint worth it.
i am definetely claiming 5 grand from halifax cos they screwed me over when i was a student.
It does not cost 35 quid to issue overdraft letters, it is a scam and thats why they are now lowering their charges,
heck if it wasnt wrong why were they settling out of court before they got the hold from the fsa????
Besides, i live in new york now and out here they dont have such thing as overdraft so if you over spend you get charged $35 per transaction, and some banks purposely let you over spend to generate revenues. |

Presumably you actually read the agreement you signed to say you agreed to when you opened the bank account. It's laid out in there in black and white.
You signed and agreed to ithese charges. If you didn't bother reading the agreement ..... nothing to say about that really. |

it depends on how many times u transact on the account but going forward if u feel the bank is being unfair to you just grab ur pen and put it in black nd white quoting the date the charges were made also remember to attach any evidence apart from these, if u have any!!!!!!!!!! |

Were you charged $35. for a overdraft fee? If so, there is no way to get this money back... just be sure to watch your account in the future, try not to go in the negative. |

If the bank didn't charge you for your overdrafts, they would have to consider the costs part of their overhead, which would make banking more expensive for the rest of use who act responsibly and keep track of what's in our checking accounts. |

11 times in 3 months - hell thats a lot of money but hey you knew what the charge was after the first time so I can't really blame the banks for charging you.
However, I do not agree with the banks profiteering from bank charges, regulation will hopefully become tougher and not be voluntary like the Banking code which they misuse to their own advantage. |
