I would think so, with so many unemployed there are hundreds applying for 1 position.

Star_Girl
Yes!!! I cant get a job for love nor money!

DAS
I think, I know it will be harder to gain employment. You can already tell by listening to the news. But stay optimistic, be diligent, and stay on top of your game. You will just have to be the best you can be, go a little bit further, and pray.............

Yeah, that and my fledgling dreadlocks!

Thought it would be, but I got a job reasonably fast. Then again, I still haven't started, dunno what's up with that haha.

Just have to be really positive, and maybe settle for a bit less than you maybe previously hoped for.

I believe it depends on your field.
If you are looking for anything possible like retail, I'd start submitting applications.
They are going to lose a great deal of their workforce due to kids going back to school and will need to refill some positions.

Check around your neighborhood for new construction. If you see a particular store that's coming soon, apply for it. You may be hired at another location but by the time that place opens, you'll already be trained.

Good Luck!

More layoffs mean more people in the workforce. Your chances of finding employment are harder because there is more competition.

Yup. I used to work in fashion retail. Now I am unemployed, I doubt I will be employed within fashion retail again.

Mixmaster D
Absolutely......this is one of the worst times to be looking for a job.

But if you are persistent and tenacious you can succeed.
