CAP QUEST DEBT COLLECTION AGENCY have been sending me letters re a supposed debt I owe of £700 which is rubbis
I have ignored these letters, but I am scared, they said they will send the bailiffs, what should I do?

The only thing you can do is get in touch with them. Somebody could have used your details to acquire debt in your name . It might be advisable to find out. They won't leave you alone until this is resolved.

I would ring them asap as they can push this to court without even speaking to you

inform them you dont owe nothing and ask them to stop sending letters

I charged them £10.00 an hour for loss of work due to letter saying they would call between the hours 0900 - 2100 a total 0f £360.00 as I did not owe the money and found out about my rights e.g. a company designated independent arbitrator they retreated as quick as the proverbial off a shovel

Ignore the bankruptcy thing! I used to work for a debt mamangement company and so advised clients how to deal with these letters. They are computer generated rather than personal. They won't send bailiffs round, as they have to obtain a court order for this, and you would know if you had a court order. The letters are worded to look threatening, hence red lettering, bold type etc. I would ring them up asap, and advise that you are disputing the debt, and ask them to withhold further action pending investigation. If you just leave it it may affect your credit rating, and whilest you can add notes on your file saying it's not your debt, the damage would be done. Ring them - or they may pursue it to court.

someone's obviously been getting something in your name if you don't owe that money you need to contact them and tell them.
it might be case of identity fraud.

contact them asap, they could have the wrong details & you may be the unlucky one that they are targeting as a result.

Go and see an Insolvency Solicitor, they are very helpful and you can have a free half hour.

Free advice from the CAB but if you ignore they will visit but if you are not the debtor then you have no problems other than to sort it out either by yourself, the CAB or a solicitor,,,
good luck,,,
