N ~ | Can I dispute a credit card Charge that I willingly paid for? |
Ok here is the deal. A friend of mine needed some help paying her phone bill. So I did pay it using my credit card. But now, she is refusing to pay me back. She also has supposedly cut me off her life. I am so pissed off. I am unsure if I can file a police complaint but can I dispute that charge? Is there any recourse or have I just been screwed of 160 bucks! |

I am very sorry to inform you that there is nothing you can do but be pissed off or take her court but of course that would cost more than the 160.00 you are already out of but you would get feeling of redemption.
You can dispute approved charges made with a credit card if something is wrong with the merchandise and the billing company is not cooperative. But with personally matters as yours I'm afraid there is not much to do except cough it up as a learning experience. |

You can take it to small claims court-if she said she would pay you back and you at no time said it was a gift,youve got a good chance.However,just make sure court costs dont outway the phone bill costs. |

You cannot dispute the charge to your credit card -- you willingly used your card to pay her bill.
This is not a criminal matter. Don't waste the police dept's time. This is a civil matter. File a suit in small claims against her. Be sure to have documentation of the payment.
Of course, winning the judgment still might not get you repaid. You may have to hire a collection agency to pursue the debt. |

Go to small claims court. Remember Judge Judy? These kinds of things are a commonplace on court TVs. Just get your records straight, specifically something indicating that you paid money to her phone bill, and that her company received money from you for HER bill.
Take all of that into small claims, and you'll win. If you dispute the charge, you will be breaking the law, and could get in trouble for fraud. |

when you go to trial be shure to bring your credit card statement show in that you paid the bill.
and prove that it was a loan.
any judge will grant you the money. |

No. You willingly made the payment. Learn from it. You dispute with your "friend" is not the credit card company's issue. |

No, you can not dispute a charge that you authorized. Yes you can take your friend to small claims court and file a police report. If you have nothing in writing though it will be hard to win. |

Sorry to say it but you probably got screwed. You could take her to court to get your money back but over $160 you would be paying more than that in legal fees. You can't dispute the charge unless you report that she used it without your permission. Then she could be charged with theft and the law would be involved. But you could get in a lot of trouble. So I guess it is up to you but I hope I helped! |
