No they won't arrest you. They might try to repossess the truck or he might be trying to serve you with a summons and complaint, although that is rather drastic for one late payment.
It's probably a bill collector trying to scare you, which, by the way is against the law. Read the article below about your rights. |

They cant arrest you, but they can repo the car. If you're still a month behind, either give the car back or make up the months payment. |

They can't arrest you for non payment. But, the investigator could have actually been someone from a repo company. They use all kinds of tricks. Try to get the payment caught up as soon as possible. Otherwise they can come take your truck back. |

There is no debtor's prison anymore. So you can't be arrested. They can take back the truck though. |

nope, but they were there to repossess your vehicle...those people will say anything to the person they're talking to get the location of the vehicle...if I were you and I didn't want to lose my vehicle I would have it hidden and make that payment before they repossess it...if you make the payment and keep up with the payments they cannot take the truck, but as of now they can come get the vehicle and say anything to get it!! |

There's no such thing as debtors' prison. It's not a criminal offense to miss a payment. This was clearly a scare tactic. If you're approached by this person with the threat of arrest offer your hands and say "take me away." Watch his reaction. By all means make your payment, but never be intimidated by a creditor. You have rights too. |

You need to contact the police at once. Ask how you would be able to find out if a law enforcement official was sent to your home. If not, was this person impersonating one, as someone came to your house and made threats to your mother he was going to arrest you. This is harrassment to fullest extent and is against the law to impersonate a law official. No one will come and arrest you for a late payment. You need to bring the payments up to date so that you do not lose possession of your truck. |

Nope. It was the repo man. Good chance they will take the truck unless you get up to date on your payments. He was more than likely figuring out how to get the truck and what the area was like to determine his ability to access it. |

Look around and see if you can finance your truck through a bank or loan company. These guys sound too shifty to me. |

That's bogus.
The guy was coming around to serve you papers and take the car back. You obviously bought from a "buy here pay here" place, and they come for the car after a few days.
Next time, use a bank or credit union for a car loan.
Better yet, get some classes on personal finance so you don't fall for scams OR easy credit car dealerships. |

NO - he's harrasing you - you should report him to the police! The worst that can happen is your truck will be reposessed one day out of the blue and you won't have a vehicle. They actually "steal" it back when you're not looking....so do what you can to make that payment (get a 2nd job, or something temporary) |

Is it legal for a fiancé company to come to your house at least 3 times a week and knock on your door and leave messages stuck in your door and call your family, friends, and work for a late payment? I made a half payment they cashed it but said they would not take it . I have tried to talk with them explaining I had lost my job, now have a new one but they where very demeaning told them I get paid next Friday and would get it caught back up. Help |
