Don't do it. Mixing friends with money never works. In theory you could put his name on your account. I'm assuming he can't get his own credit card? That should be a red flag for you right there. Keep him as your best friend, but keep the credit card to yourself. |

Take this foolish advice, an older person once told me they quickest way to lose a friend is to loan the money or in your case loan them your credit which is worse that follows you forever!
Why can't they get their own card, in their own name and with their own credit.
I have loving friends and family but you just don't mix money in between them it could be bad!

I believe you can put anyone you desire on your credit card. However, my suggestion if you do is to have that person sign some type of document that states they will pay for the charges they put on your card. You may be best friends now, but no one ever knows what will happen in any type of relationship. Good luck! |

Yes. You need to call the credit card company and ask them to have a name added to your account. Please realize though, that you will responsible for all the charges even if they use it without you knowing. The best thing to do when a friend needs to purchase something on your card is for you to buy it for them and they write out an IOU for it. |

Wanting a best friend to use the card is not a smart idea. Let him get is own card and be responsible for his his own card. What's going to happen if he uses your card and does not pay for what he has used it for? You will be stuck w/ the bill and there goes your friendship. That would be worse then just saying no. He will understand if he his your bestfriend. Too many friendships have been lost on credit cards or for that matter any kind of credit. Think about it carefully before you decide to do anything that huge. Think about your credit. Good luck. |

You need to contact the credit card company first.
If it is allowed, he'll get his own card with the same number as yours.
The bill will come to you, since you are primary on the account.
PLEASE sign a contract before you let him on.
Specify what he is responsible for, and when.

No, they need to be a spouse or child. You can co sign a card for them. Or have them get their own card and you pay the bills. Since it is what you will be doing anyway. |
