It varies from card to card....just call up your credit card company. I have one card that allows me to have a 33% cash advance/withdrawl. My other card allows to withdraw as much as I want up to the limit. |

Typically credit cards have a cash advance limit on them...which means you may not be able to advance your entire limit. For example, without sharing too much info, my cash advance limit os 25% of my actual credit limit. Call the card issuer and find out if you have such a limit. Some do, others may not. Aslo, some have "balance transfer" checks which allow you to write a check off you limit and deposit it to your checking account..This is one way to avoid the cash advance limit. |

you would need to ask the card company to make sure you can as you dont want to get into trouble
you could try this and see what you think

Yes. Go IN to a bank branch (any bank branch) to do a cash advance. Some cards you are capped as to how much you get back at the ATM.
Keep in mind that your interest will accrue EACH AND EVERY DAY your balance is outstanding. Plus, any payments you make will go to any PURCHASES first before any cash advances. |

i would get a second credit card so that you can have a greater line of credit on which to borrow the money from so that you do not have to max out your one card. If you do max out your one credit card it will than be really hard to apply for another one.. just something to think about.. if you decide to apply for a credit card check out CardLister.com which has reviews and comparison features for all major credit cards. You typically get the credit card in a week and most of the credit cards are free. you may also want to look for a credit card with a lower interest rate or one with 0% apr for 12 months. All of these options are available to you on CardLister.com |

It depends on the card/contract. My card doesn't have a limit, although there is certainly be a daily or weekly limit to how much I can take out in cash. And it's a hell of a high interest rate - a bank loan would probably be a lot cheaper if you can get one. |

It can be a problem, although you have the id and card etc, depending on the amount you ask for it will be more than likely they ask a lot of security questions (they come from the credit card department of the bank, not the cashier sitting in front of you) once you have gone through the checks they can still decline the encashment or just not as much as you like.
It sounds a bit unfair but banks have to show some level of responsible lending with customers.
This means that they might not give you the full limit of the encashment amount based on your current balance, credit card history (i.e late payment fees, over the limit fees, bounced cheques and direct debits if you have them) this all adds up to
1- Will they get the money back
2- This is a real alarm bell for money trouble and if you do like a IVA, bankrupt, etc and it goes to court one of the first questions that are asked to the card issuer is "why did you give them that much to start with"
also your looking at a cash handling fee 2-3%, around 30% daily int and lots of people calling you to give you a nice loan |
