Yes you can. I work for the Halifax and our 11-15 yr account offers a visa electron debit card that can be used in shops and to take the money out at a cashpoint. Natwest also offers debit cards on it 11-15 account.

Yes, if it's their account they can have a debit card....

you can set up a current account with any bank to put money in, different banks have different policies about what age they give a debit cards out. There should not be too many problems as debit cards use the payers money not borrowing it.

I think some people on here have got confused. A debit card is different to a credit card. I have an account which is a solo account which I can use practically anywhere and there is no overdraft facility, so therefore no debt!

Yes she can.
Set up a checking account with you as the (forgot the word for it) legal gaurdian so to speak and her as the minor account holder. Order a debit card for that account, all you have to do is sign it and give it to her, and make sure she doesn't overdraw!!!

she cannot have a visa debit card because it is possilbe to go overdrawn with them and it is illegal for under 18s to have credit.

she might get an electron card.... try halifax for them.

nope, you cant get one untill ure eighteen, you can have a bank card, but you cant pay with it, only to take money out.
