If there is NO payment due, you can't be late...so contest it. |

It may say in the application you signed that there is also a monthly service charge on inactive accounts. Just another way to see if you are reading carefully before you sign. |

They can only bill you for late payments if the payments are past the due date. If there is no balance then you should call them and get it straightened out, it could be an error on thier part that they are unaware of and it can harm you because if they have your account marked as late or 30+ days past due, it goes on your credit report. |

in you don't owe anything than no. you cannot be charged a late fee if there is no bill to be late on. |

From your question, you make it sound as if you are saying that you have a 0 balance. If that is so, then they cannot do that. You should call the number on the back of your cc, and speak with a customer service rep. |

No, a late payment fee can only be accessed if there was a payment due and it was not received by the due date. |
