Of course you can.
Banks want you to think you need credit cards and a high fico score to make it in todays world. That's simply not true.
Save and pay cash. If you live on less than you make you will have money.
Use a debit card for hotel and car rental.
A debit card will do anything a credit card will do except get you into debt. It has all the same protection as a credit card if it has a mastercard or visa logo.
The only time you might have to borrow is for a home. You can do that with manual underwriting. It's not a sub prime loan. It's the way home loans where givin' before all the fico score worship. You can get the lowest interest rates available.
Save up for a good used cash car and stay away from payments and interest.
You will never get ahead making payments and paying interest.
Debt free is truely the way to live.
Check out http://www.daveramsey.com and listen to his radio show. Lots of great advice on money and debt. It doesn't cost dime to listen. |

You can buy pretty much anything without a credit card. You can even get discounts at some places if you pay cash instead of credit. You won't have any monthly fees of interest to worry about either. Yes, you can rent a car and get a hotel room without a credit card as long as you put in a cash guarantee, but isn't as convenient as using a credit card.
I make around $100k and don't ever use my credit card except for car rental, hotel reservations, and buying stuff on the Internet. |

While in today's world it is almost impossible not to have a credit card if you do anything... you need one to rent a car, to hold a hotel room for you, etc. But to answer your question, most if not all of us would live a good/better life if we never had a credit card so yes you can/would live a good life without one. |

Most definately. Although credit cards provide a convienence to do certain things and obtain things, you still have a debt that is usually so hard to get rid of and hangs over your head. |
