SPOILED!!! What are you teaching her if she wants a credit card and you give it to her at age 11. 11 yr. olds don't comprehend that kind of responsibility, even if very mature. This is a bad idea and will have negative effects later. if she wants money to buy something, she neads to EARN it. Give her extra chores and pay her for them. If you just give her a credit card, she will not learn to earn and appriciate what she has. It's not being mean, its being a good parent. Teaching them to earn and appriciate and work for things you want is raising a respnsible, appriciative child who will learn that you have to earn things, not just expect them. By giving her that, you will only hurt her future. |

shes 11! maybe times have changed but i dont remember having a credit card at that age. what if her friends get ahold of it. or if someone finds out at school that she has it and tries to snatch it. its a high risk and if anything, get her one but keep it on you. |

no dont do it. she probly will go crazy and buy things and then will screw up your credit. get your 11 year old a atm card. and see how they do on spending. then if they are really good at spending and putting money into the bank. then yes get one. but i would get them a atm card first. and the atm card is like a credit card but u dont pay for the bills. u just get a statment to see how much u spent and saved. |
