If you give them access they can and will. Don't make any "online" payments to them or send them a check. Send them only money orders!!!! |

Do not ever give a collection agency your banking information. They will max out your credit cards and empty your accounts.
A collection agency cannot get into your bank accounts (unless you give them access), put liens on your property, and garnish your wages without first goint to court and getting a civil judgment against you. |

Unless they have your explicit permission then no they can't. Creditors have to have your permission for each and every transaction that they make with you. If you have agreed to a monthly payment plan with automatic withdrawal then yes, but only for a certain amount that you designate. If they attempt to take more than the amount designated that is considered fraud. So if you have issues with them getting into your account you must act quickly and go to your bank and tell them what is happening. The bank will probably at that point close the account and start you a new one that the creditor does not have the number to. If you continue to have problems you should seek the advice of a lawyer. Preferably before they do. Good Luck!!!!! |
