If you send them a letter telling them to make no further contact by telephone, and to communicate only in writing, they must comply. (I do not know of any procedure for having them reduce the number of calls without having them stop completely.) |

Call the customer service number on your statement. Usually you can press zero to get right to a live person. From there, request to speak with the collections department. Credit card companies are required to put in effect a 'cease and desist' if a customer requests it, meaning that they would have to stop calling you. You can also request that they only contact you by mail. If they don't cooperate, threaten them with legal action/BBB. They'' be quick to help you then! |

this is illegal, and it is harrasment. I would not only call the customer service team from that company but also send them a letter (and keep a copy of the letter for your records).Tell them they are to stop calling you or you will pursue legal action and contact the BBB.thats all you have to tell them. It is also illegal for them to contact you outside of normal business hours or on weekends, they are allowed by law to contact customers between 9 am and 5 pm Monday - Friday.
If you now its them calling, just dont answer your phone. You can change your phone number as well. |
